We’re Going Zero-Waste
What is Zero Waste?
We are taking steps to make sure we reduce all waste coming from the fair this season. This means different materials will be properly disposed of at our newly separated waste stations.
Vendor Changes
We now require all vendors to use 100% compostable service ware. All service ware that is compostable will have a label directly on it that identifies it as compostable. If vendors do not comply with this requirement, Hester Street Fair will be able to fine vendors for the disruption of the initiative up to $100.
For our food vendors, here is a great source of our recommended service ware providers: https://www.ecoproductsstore.com/hot_cups.html.
Common Ground Compost
To make zero waste possible, we are excited to partner with Common Ground Compost! They are a passionate organization who is dedicated to the reorganization of recycling in NYC. Interested in how they can help your business become zero waste too? Read more about them here.
Food Fests Are Being Moved To Sundays
Expect your Sundays to get a lot more active this year. We’ve taken off a few of our most beloved themes and are placing them on the Sunday calendar. From increased vendor and audience participation last year, we want everyone to have more room and simply be comfortable.
What events can you look forward to on a Sunday?
Lobster & Beer, Ice Cream Social, Dog Day, our Coffe Competition, and Vegan Fest.
We’re Raising Our Prices
Starting March 1st we will make a slight increase to the following tents: 6’x6′, 8’x8′, and 10’x10′.
Special Guests Will Host Our Saturday Markets
What will our special guests do?
Our lineup of guest-hosts will be bringing in brands, artists, friends of their own. You’ll be able to shop for their products and step into their experiences; entering into the host’s world for a very special day.
Who will the special guests be?
Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming announcement! A full list will be out soon…
